United Stations Radio Networks (USRN) is partnering with celebrity and entertainment news website theblast.com to create content for its affiliated stations. To kick off this new relationship, the majority of the content will be delivered as customized live reports from producers at The Blast. Eventually, USRN and The Blast will expand their collaborative coverage of celebrity and entertainment news to include pre-recorded reports and feeds that allow stations to maximize the share-ability of the new content.
Launched in September 2017, The Blast is helmed by TMZ co-founder, producer of the TMZ syndicated TV show and an executive producer of the “TMZ Live” syndicated series Mike Walters. He’s widely known for breaking some of the biggest celebrity news stories of the past decade. Utilizing a team of entertainment news veterans, The Blast is redefining entertainment news for the digital age, creating fresh, unfiltered and credible content.
Regarding the new partnership, USRN EVP/Programming Andy Denemark commented, “As soon as we got turned on to the team at The Blast, we knew there was a fit for radio. They’ve got their fingers on the same pop culture pulse that our affiliates care about from Hollywood to Hip Hop, so we know this is a win for radio.”
The Blast founder Mike Walters added, “Our goal has always been to tell the biggest stories in entertainment fast, first and accurately. We love that radio folks are always buzzing about the same topics we’re on top of, so it only makes sense to partner with USRN & deliver the news directly to their listeners in a fun & engaging way.”
