Hootie and the Blowfish frontman and Capitol Nashville artist Darius Rucker is using his love of golf for his latest endeavor, hosting a new golf talk show for SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio. “On Par with Darius Rucker” will launch Wednesday July, 26 from 3p until 4p (ET) and will air each month.
“They say that rock stars want to be pro athletes, and pro athletes want to be rock stars, and there is definitely some truth to that. It’s no secret that music and golf are two passions of mine.” said Rucker. “I’ve been lucky enough to play with and get to know well some of the best golfers on tour. While we’re on the course, I’m looking for swing tips and all they want to do is talk music. SiriusXM is the perfect place to blend both of those worlds into one show, and I am really excited to get started.”
Rucker, a single-digit-handicap golfer and partner at MGC Sports says although the show will initially focus on interviews with PGA and Senior Tour stars, he’d like to expand it to guys like himself, devoted players who make their bones in music. “I’d love to interview Justin Timberlake or other musicians who play golf and talk to them about the game.”
