Comedian Michael Colyar Joins AURN’s “Afternoon Rush”

More changes are in store for the nationally syndicated 3p-7p radio show that has filled the void left by the “Doug Banks Show,” hosted by the late Doug Banks. Comedian Michael Colyar has joined “The Afternoon Rush” replacing original Banks replacement Rudy Rush.

Colyar is best known for his performances on Venice Beach in California. For nine years he entertained crowds on the beach with his brand of humor. Originally from Chicago, Coyer was the previously the host of “BET Live from LA”. He’s also starred in movies (“House Party 3”)and serves as a motivational speaker.

Veteran programmer Mike Love, who oversees programming for the show, said, “We’re delighted to add the comedic talents of Colyar. He’s funny, politically astute and his adult approach to the issues of our time make him the perfect fit.”

“The Afternoon Rush” is anchored by former “The Rickey Smiley Show” co-host, Ebony Steele along with sidekick Loni Swain and is distributed by American Urban Radio Networks.
