As expected Westwood One ended its distribution of Scott Shannon‘s True Oldies Channel, but the syndicated radio network has found a new home online following its cancellation on Monday. The Oldies network, with an emphasis on rock & roll music from 1958-1964, was launched by Shannon in April, 2004 on ABC Radio Networks and is now streaming commercial free 24/7 on the Internet at trueoldieschannel.com.
Shannon, who has been searching for a new radio syndication deal wrote on the True Oldies site; “We didn’t have much time to get something together after we found out that we were getting tossed off the radio. However, we did manage to get everything needed to set up our own Internet station on short notice. Thanks to special fans like you, we are able to continue the True Oldies Channel.”
