WestwoodOne and TuneIn have announced an expanded partnership under the terms of which TuneIn will carry WestwoodOne’s live broadcast coverage of the 2014 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. WestwoodOne will provide TuneIn with full play-by-play for all 67 games from the first round through the Final Four.
Coverage will continue through the NCAA Men’s Final Four in April. In addition to all 67 games of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, TuneIn will also offer Westwood One’s coverage of other NCAA championship events, including the Division I Women’s Final Four, the Men’s Frozen Four, the Men’s and Women’s College World Series and the Division I Men’s Lacrosse Semifinals and Championship.
“We are excited to be extending our relationship with WestwoodOne, a company that is known for delivering superior programming for the biggest sporting events in the world,” says Kevin Straley, VP Programming at TuneIn. “This year’s presentation of the 2014 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship on TuneIn will allow sports fans to listen to their favorite teams from the excitement of the opening rounds until the ending, where one champion cuts down the nets.”
“We are pumped and ready to bring the excitement of the NCAA Tournament to TuneIn’s large listener base,” says Matt Cutair, WestwoodOne’s VP, Digital Operations and Sales. “This extended partnership ensures that college hoops fans can access the games and that our advertising partners receive true multi-platform distribution of their messaging.”
