Steve Harvey Kicks Off Renamed Hoodie Awards

Premiere Networks syndicated radio host Steve Harvey will kick off the award nominations for this year’s 11th Annual Ford Neighborhood Awards show (formerly the Hoodie Awards) — an event Harvey hosts annually in Las Vegas, seeking the nation’s best community leaders, teachers, churches, businesses and more. This year’s Neighborhood Awards nominations in twelve categories started May 13 online at

This year’s Ford Neighborhood Awards show hosted by Steve Harvey includes the top 48 Neighborhood Awards nominees, fans and other guests at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. During the evening, the Ford Neighborhood Awards show will include a special presentation from title sponsor Ford for the Best Community Leader category winner, who will receive a donation from Ford for $30,000 to be used towards their non-profit organization.

The 2013 Ford Neighborhood Awards show will take place on Saturday, August 10th, presenting top community honors in 12 Neighborhood Awards categories to neighborhoods across the country, with a line-up of entertainment that includes performances from Chaka Khan, Jaheim and Fantasia, and celebrity presenters including Anthony Hamilton, RonReaco Lee, Salli Richardson, Tamara Tunie, Tichina Arnold, and Judge Greg Mathis.

Steve Harvey said of the nominations, “The Neighborhood Awards show was created for you — to honor the real stars of the neighborhood.
