United Stations Radio Networks and former “Rick Jackson’s Country Hall of Fame” host Rick Jackson have signed a deal to launch a new three-hour weekend syndicated radio classic country program, “Rick Jackson’s Country Classics.” The show marks a new network relationship for Jackson whose previous show was distributed by Dial Global and aired nationally on close to 150 affiliates. Dial Global recently replaced Jackson’s show with a new show, “Country Gold” hosted by Alabama lead singer Randy Owen. Jackson a 30-year country radio veteran, also serves as VP/GM of Lincoln Financial’s cluster of radio stations in San Diego including country legend KSON. “Rick Jackson’s Country Classics” will feature music from the greatest stars in country music history including Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Vince Gill, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Randy Travis and Patsy Cline, along with background stories “all request shows”, holiday themed programs and features covering country music history.
United Stations’ executive VP/programming Andy Denemark says, “We’ve wanted to work with Rick for a long time, and we’ve finally got the opportunity. We also didn’t have a show that’s purely classic country until now, and we’re pleased to be planted in that music with both feet with this show.”
