Reach Media syndicated radio personality Tom Joyner has announced that the Ford Motor company has signed on for a sixth year and the first as the presenting sponsor of the Tom Joyner Foundation Fantastic Voyage. Launched in 2000, the cruise raises money to help keep students in Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) through the Tom Joyner Foundation. Each year, Joyner, along with his Tom Joyner Morning Show crew and celebrity friends, raises money for this significant cause. The annual cruise offers a jam-packed line-up of musical acts, comedians, seminars, theme nights and the creation of an interactive community at sea from sun up to sundown. “We’re excited about our fifth year of partnering with Tom Joyner on this annual cruise that raises more than $1 million each year to keep students in school at black colleges and universities,” said Shawn Lollie, Ford manager, Multicultural Marketing. “By partnering with Tom and his foundation on this cruise, we not only have a chance to support higher education within the African American community, but we also have a great opportunity to showcase the new Ford Explorer.” Joyner said “Every year I say it and every year it’s true, there’s no party with a purpose like this anywhere else in the world. You’ve got to experience this because you’ll never be a part of anything like this ever again and it’s all to help my favorite passion – black colleges.” Since 2000, the cruise/fund raiser has provided money to help keep students in Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) through the Tom Joyner Foundation. Called the “Ultimate Party with a Purpose” 3,000 passengers will set to sail from Fort Lauderdale and cruise down to the Caribbean March 25-31.
