Rush Limbaugh has once again landed on top of the Talkers Magazine “Heavy Hundred” ranking the 100 most important radio talk show hosts in America. Limbaugh’s place on the 2011 list marks the fifth year in a row that the EBI/Premiere Radio Network syndicated radio talker has claimed the top spot. Conservative syndicated radio talkers Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and Michael Savage remain at the 2,3, and four positions while Laura Ingraham moves into the number five slot vacated by Dr. Laura Schlessinger. Other notable changes include progressive syndicated radio talker Thom Hartmann’s rise from 11 to 8 and Dial Global talk host Ed Schultz’s entry into the top 10, moving from 11 to 9.
Talkers Magazine decides the rankings based on-in no particular order- courage, effort, impact, longevity, potential, ratings, recognition, revenue, service, talent and uniqueness. The magazine says the list is “as much art as science and that the results are arguable.”
