Clear Channel has signed Ryan Seacrest to an expanded deal reportedly worth $60 million over three years. The Los Angeles-based host will continue to anchor his daily and weekly syndicated radio shows while also creating new content for distribution across Clear Channel’s over-the-air and digital radio platform, thumb serve as a spokesperson for Clear Channel and create joint ventures to develop and promote new musical artists and other multi-platform media projects.
Seacrest will continue to host “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” which originates in morning drive at KIIS-FM, Los Angeles. Terms of the new agreement also call for the daily syndicated midday version of the show to be expanded to four hours. Seacrest will continue to count down the hits on the Premiere-syndicated “American Top 40.”
The expanded agreement also calls for Seacrest to commit time as a spokesperson and advocate for Clear Channel, including appearances at events such as “Z100” WHTZ, New York’s Jingle Ball and KIIS’ “Wango Tango” concerts. Seacrest will also work with Clear Channel to develop new syndicated radio content. A third element of the deal involves a joint venture to develop and produce various entertainment concepts such as a record label and music publishing, a live concert series and content for television.
