Ryan Seacrest Signs $60 Million Extension

Clear Channel has signed Ryan Seacrest to an expanded deal reportedly worth $60 million over three years.  The Los Angeles-based host will continue to anchor his daily and weekly syndicated radio shows while also creating new content for distribution across Clear Channel’s over-the-air and digital radio platform, thumb serve as a spokesperson for Clear Channel and create joint ventures to develop and promote new musical artists and other multi-platform media projects.

Seacrest will continue to host “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” which originates in morning drive at KIIS-FM, Los Angeles. Terms of the new agreement also call for the daily syndicated midday version of the show to be expanded to four hours. Seacrest will continue to count down the hits on the Premiere-syndicated “American Top 40.”

The expanded agreement also calls for Seacrest to commit time as a spokesperson and advocate for Clear Channel, including appearances at events such as “Z100” WHTZ, New York’s Jingle Ball and KIIS’ “Wango Tango” concerts.  Seacrest will also work with Clear Channel to develop new syndicated radio content.  A third element of the deal involves a joint venture to develop and produce various entertainment concepts such as a record label and music publishing, a live concert series and content for television.

“Everyone at Clear Channel is thrilled to renew and expand our partnership with Ryan, who is not only a top radio and television personality but also a true visionary who has firmly established himself as America’s leading curator of popular culture,” Clear Channel chairman of media and entertainment platforms Bob Pittman says. “Ryan is a singular talent and brings incredible assets to his partnership with Clear Channel.  His likeability and broad appeal are a key reason why his shows have such phenomenal reach and penetration.
