After less than a year, the Mo’Nique Show has been cancelled by Syndication One. Details are still coming in but the handwriting was on the wall when after a much heralded debut on KDAY Los Angeles, the show was removed after just four months due to a format shift. The same senario happened in Philadelphia in January leaving the show with less than seven affiliates. Arbitron’s  PPM methodology has not been kind to talk heavy personalities  on Urban music stations, particularly those outside of morning drive leaving new shows like …

Congratulations go out to Syndication One morning host Rickey Smiley, who made Talkers Magazines “Talkers 250″  list even though stablemates Al Sharpton and Warren Ballentine missed the cut. The Rickey Smiley Morning Show appears on the Talkers 250 list in the Hot Talk category which by the way, somehow excludes similar syndicated urban hosts such as Tom Joyner, Steve Harvey and Michael Baisden.

It also showed a little research on the subject. Here’s the petition. Syndication One talkers Al Sharpton and Warren Ballentine are out as part of  Radio One’s WAMJ …

Buried in the middle of a simple format adjustment story out of  Philadelphia is the news that Syndication One afternoon talent Mo’Nique has been cancelled.  Radio One owned WRNB announced a shift from the traditional Urban AC format to one that focuses on the “R&B of the 90′s and Today” while installing market veteran Lady B as the afternoon talent replacing the syndicated Mo’Nique. Since launching last summer the show has lost two major markets,  Los Angeles at KDAY and now Philadelphia. The show has proved to be less than …

The rumors are rampant as to just what Radio One plans to do on 107.5 in Atlanta after jettisoning the Smooth Jazz WJJZ the other day. This story has ties to syndication because some of the talk involves simulcasting Urban/Talk hybrid WAMJ (102.5). The station features Premiere’s Steve Harvey, ABC’s Micheal Baisden and the two Syndication One produced Superadio syndicated talkers Al Sharpton and Warren Ballentine. The talk/music hybrid has been wildly successful for Radio One despite being on the signal challenged Class A move in. The real test will …
