Warren Ballentine Exits WAOK Atlanta

Syndication One syndicated radio talker Warren Ballentine is out at CBS Radio’s WAOK (AM 1380) Atlanta. There is no official word on why or who may be his replacement in the 10AM-1PM time period. This is not the first time that the show has been shuffled about in the Atlanta market, it was dropped by Radio One owned WAMJ-FM,  picked up by CBS and lost an hour to the now defunct Gail King show. Al Sharpton Named Host of MSNBC’s “PoliticsNation” sharpton575

Now it’s official. After weeks of speculation surrounding Syndication One talker and activist The Rev.Al Sharpton, and if or when he was getting the 6pm slot on MSNBC, the network announced Tuesday that Sharpton will host “PoliticsNation” on weeknights starting August 29. The Mo’Nique Show Cancelled by BET?

One of our favorite people to watch since her syndicated radio show was cancelled by Syndication One, is the Oscar award winning actress/comedian Mo’Nique. Now rumor has it that her BET late night talk show has been dropped by the network. The news is not substantiated but Media TakeOut.com is reporting that the show was let go due to “personality” conflicts between the star and BET executives. We’ll keep an eye on this one.

“Young Turk” Out, Sharpton Eyed for MSNBC Slot

The New York Times reported today that sources at MSNBC say that civil rights activist and Syndication One syndicated radio talker the Rev. Al Sharpton is close to being named the permanent 6 pm anchor on the network.  Sharpton has been filling in for Cenk Uygur, the radio talk show host behind “The Young Turks” who has hosted the program for the last six months. Ballentine Reinvestment Campaign Nets $1 Million

Syndication One syndicated radio talk host Warren Ballentine and Mechanics and Farmers Bank announced that deposits made by people responding to Ballentines grassroots “Community Reinvestment” campaign now total over $1 million dollars.  In late 2009 Ballentine began encouraging his listeners, known as “The Truth Fighters,” to support minority-owned financial institutions which “have traditionally invested in the communities they serve.” Listener response to Ballentine’s on-air messages of encouragement prompted Ballentine and M&F President/CEO Kim D.
