Congratulations go out to Syndication One morning host Rickey Smiley, who made Talkers Magazines “Talkers 250″  list even though stablemates Al Sharpton and Warren Ballentine missed the cut. The Rickey Smiley Morning Show appears on the Talkers 250 list in the Hot Talk catagory which by the way, somehow excludes similar syndicated urban hosts such as Tom Joyner, Steve Harvey and Michael Baisden.

*UPDATE* Arbitron’s Portable People Meter methodology is the villain in a petition put together by the Atlanta listeners of Warren Ballentine and Al Sharpton who have been cut at WAMJ-FM. The petition charges that the number of participants in the PPM panel was not representative of the target audience of the two shows and led to the decision to drop the hosts. The rumors are rampant as to just what Radio One plans to do on 107.5 in Atlanta after jettisoning the Smooth Jazz WJJZ the other day. KDAY-FM  Los Angeles began dismantling it’s mostly syndicated weekday lineup by dropping Syndication One’s “The Mo’Nique Show” last month. This week the proverbial other shoe dropped as the Westwood One syndicated “The Wendy Williams Experience” was also removed from KDAY.
