Patrick McGeehan’s blog post in the New York Times is reporting that failed liberal talk network Air America, owes some of it’s former talent a few paychecks.  According to the company’s Chapter 7 filing today in Manhattan bankruptcy court, unsecured debts exceeded its net worth by more than $15 million at the end and some of the networks’ syndicated radio talkers had not been paid for the last few airshifts.  Rachel Maddow is due a last payment of  $3,952  and Ron Reagan’s company was owed $6,351.  The article also mentions …

Air America Media through a LMA with Bonneville International will some have a home for it’s liberal syndicated radio talk lineup in Washington DC. Air America Media has created an in-house sales unit, AAM Network Sales to handle the duties formerly held by Westwood One. Dial-Global’s syndicated Stephanie Miller Show, along with Air America Media’s new Montel Across America show hosted by longtime TV talker Montel Williams made their WWRL-AM New York debuts today. Miller is airing on the station from 11am-noon,  with Williams sliding into afternoon drive from 3-6pm in the slot formerly filled by Ron Kuby. The pair joins a weekday lineup at WWRL that already includes syndicated radio shows hosted by Rachel Maddow, Ed Schultz, Ron Reagan, Al Sharpton, Alan Colmes and Phil Hendrie.

Air America Media names radio vet Stuart Greenblatt as VP of the company’s new affiliate sales division. Most recently, Greenblatt served as VP/Affiliate Sales for Westwood One, where he helped launch “The Dennis Miller Show” and “The Fred Thompson Show,” while maintaining and growing “Radio Factor with Bill O’Reilly.” At Air America Greenblatt will head up affiliations for the radio network’s programming including Rachel Maddow, Ron Reagan and the recently launched Montel Williams shows.

A new Air America agreement calls for Rachel Maddow to host a one-hour morning drive show. Her nighttime show had been prerecorded to allow her to do a nightly one-hour MSNBC program. Air America SVP of programming Bill Hess says “Rachel has become a breakout star and our affiliates and listeners will continue to benefit from her wit, intelligence and insight.” Air America will expand Ron Reagan’s evening show from two hours to three (6-9pm ET).
