Tom Taylor 2.0 at Inside Radio is reporting on rumors of an XM shutdown of it’s studios on 57th street in Manhattan. If the talk is true this would not only cut a significant expense out of Mel Karmazins’ XM/Sirius operating budget, but it would move O&A into the same building as Mel and Howard Stern. Update…two more affiliates bite the dust as WZNE 94.1 The Zone Rochester, NY has pulled the plug on Opie & Anthony, who were being tape-delayed in the afternoon from 2-5p. The two also got the axe at at Nassau Broadcastings Classic Rocker WPXC Pixy103 Cape Cod MA. It’s safe to say that the curtain has closed on this one.

They’ve taken quite a few of those hits over the past year losing affiliates in Washington, Dallas and Philly…now CBS has dropped O&A in Boston and Cleveland.
