The Mo’Nique Show Cancelled by BET?

One of our favorite people to watch since her syndicated radio show was cancelled by Syndication One, is the Oscar award winning actress/comedian Mo’Nique. Now rumor has it that her BET late night talk show has been dropped by the network. The news is not substantiated but Media TakeOut.com is reporting that the show was let go due to “personality” conflicts between the star and BET executives. We’ll keep an eye on this one.

All Access is reporting this morning that Oscar nominee and former syndicated radio host Mo’Nique has been offered the job as the morning show replacement for Donnie Simpson at CBS Top 40/Rhythmic WPGC Washington.  The site says sources claim that there have been talks aimed at bringing Mo”Nique in to replace the recently retired Simpson and that over that last weekend the station had been running promo announcements for “Mo’Nique’s Morning Takeover.  WPGC afternoon driver …

O.K. so shoot me, we fell asleep last night right before the BET debut of ex-syndicated radio host Mo’Nique and “The Mo’Nique Show.” Although we missed the entire show,  Roger Catlin of The Hartford Courant stayed awake and gave this review of “The Mo’Nique Show”. In announcing it’s fall lineup BET is replacing one ex-syndicated radio host with another. “The Mo’Nique Show” premieres Monday, October 5th at 11:00 pm as televisions newest late night talk show. BET has announced the addition of a new late night talk show starring Mo’Nique to it’s lineup as part of a new branding strategy focusing on family values and community pride.  Mo’Nique who was recently dropped from her nationally syndicated radio show by Syndication One, will host “Breakin Up With Mo’Nique” joining a lineup of new shows for the network that also includes reality shows featuring singer Monica and “Everybody Hates Chris” star Terry Crews.

After less than a year, the Mo’Nique Show has been cancelled by Syndication One. Details are still coming in but the handwriting was on the wall when after a much heralded debut on KDAY Los Angeles, the show was removed after just four months due to a format shift. KDAY-FM  Los Angeles began dismantling it’s mostly syndicated weekday lineup by dropping Syndication One’s “The Mo’Nique Show” last month. This week the proverbial other shoe dropped as the Westwood One syndicated “The Wendy Williams Experience” was also removed from KDAY.
