Veteran sportscaster and former “Access Hollywood” and “The Insider” host Pat O’Brien returns to his sports roots joining Steve Hartman and Vic “The Brick” Jacobs for Fox Sports Radio’s “Loose Cannons” program starting on August 16th. The show, previously known as Hartman & Friends, airs weekdays from 3-7pm ET. O’Brien’s sports background includes covering the Olympics and the Super Bowl, as well as leading live coverage of the World Series, the NBA Finals and the NCAA Basketball Tournament on CBS Sports.

Fox Sports Radio, celebrating its 10th anniversary this fall, has inked a long-term extension of its distribution agreement with Premiere Radio Networks. FSR, a division of Premiere, was launched in 2000. Under the new long-term deal, Premiere will continue producing and distributing the Fox Sports Radio Network. Terms were not disclosed. In addition, the Fox Sports Radio Network is enhancing its distribution platform, synchronizing the audio, digital, online and television assets of Fox Sports Enterprises, FoxSports.com and the Fox Sports Radio Network. Veteran sports radio and TV host Stephen A. Smith will join the Premiere Radio Networks distributed FOX Sports Network as both a daily talk host and regular contributor. Along with lending his analysis and commentary on various FSR shows, Smith will host a new daily show for the network beginning January 4th. DIRECTV has acquired the Dan Patrick and “Into The Night with Tony Bruno” radio shows from The Content Factory. The shows will move to a new division of DIRECTV, the DIRECTV Sports Group. The Content Factory’s Chris Crane and Ken Kohl will also move to the new company. Patrick’s show simulcasts on DIRECTV’s 101 channel, and both syndicated radio shows are distributed separately as well as through Premiere Radio Networks’ Fox Sports Radio.

Industry website All Access is reporting that Fox Sports Radio is in talks with The Content Factory to add “Into The Night With Tony Bruno” to their lineup from 10p-1a ET. The move, similar to the network’s deal for The Content Factory’s “Dan Patrick Show,” will move current evening host J.T. “The Brick” to 1-6a ET weeknights.

Dan Patrick adds his Content Factory produced radio show to a newly revised lineup on Fox Sports Radio airing from 9am-noon EST weekdays. As a result of the change, former midday hosts Craig Shemon and James Washington are out. KLAC Los Angeles hosts Petros Papadakis, Matt Smith, Steve Hartman and Vic “The Brick” Jacobs all are now also airing on the network.
