Cumulus Media Inc.  has formerly announced the acquisition of Citadel Broadcasting Corp. With the completion of the transaction  Cumulus added Citadel Media Networks, (the home of syndicated radio shows from Don Imus, Kidd Kraddick, Tom Kent, Perez Hilton, Thalia, Focus on The Family and the ABC and ESPN radio networks) as well more than 200 radio stations. ESPN Radio network personality and SportsCenter anchor Brian Kenny is leaving ESPN for a “new opportunity.”  Kenny currently hosts his own national show on ESPN Radio from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET Monday-Friday. ESPN has reached a two-year deal with Navetter Broadcasting to carry ESPN Radio on 5kw ZSR-FM (103.5) from the Bahamas. ZSR-FM is based in the Bahamian capital of Nassau on the Bahamas’ most populous island of New Providence (270,000 people). The station’s coverage extends to the entire island. The sports network was already available for iPhone users, now BlackBerry owners have access to an ESPN Radio mobile app. Retailing for $2.99, the app gives uses access to 15 live streams of ESPN Radio stations as well as other content and the ability to text message hosts. The network says its iPhone app averages nearly two million starts per month.
