Citadel to Cumulus Media a Done Deal

Cumulus Media Inc.  has formerly announced the acquisition of Citadel Broadcasting Corp. With the completion of the transaction  Cumulus added Citadel Media Networks, (the home of syndicated radio shows from Don Imus, Kidd Kraddick, Tom Kent, Perez Hilton, Thalia, Focus on The Family and the ABC and ESPN radio networks) as well more than 200 radio stations. Brian Kenny Announces Exit from ESPN

ESPN Radio network personality and SportsCenter anchor Brian Kenny is leaving ESPN for a “new opportunity.”  Kenny currently hosts his own national show on ESPN Radio from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET Monday-Friday. He’s also host of ESPN2′s Friday Night Fights.  Kenny is set to host his last SportsCenter in early September.  “Brian did great work for us. ESPN Radio Opens “Audio Avenue”

ESPN Radio is using the official opening of its new studios as a chance to host its owned and operated stations and key affiliates June 1 in a special day-long event that will also highlight ESPN Radio’s growth from a terrestrial service to ESPN Audio, a content provider via many platforms. ESPN Radio Signs First Carribean Affiliate

ESPN has reached a two-year deal with Navetter Broadcasting to carry ESPN Radio on 5kw ZSR-FM (103.5) from the Bahamas. ZSR-FM is based in the Bahamian capital of Nassau on the Bahamas’ most populous island of New Providence (270,000 people). The station’s coverage extends to the entire island. The sports network was already available for iPhone users, now BlackBerry owners have access to an ESPN Radio mobile app. Retailing for $2.99, the app gives uses access to 15 live streams of ESPN Radio stations as well as other content and the ability to text message hosts. The network says its iPhone app averages nearly two million starts per month.
