The Premiere Radio Network syndicated radio show Bob and Tom has lost executive producer Marty Bender due to budget cuts.  Bender spent over 20 years programming Bob and Tom flagship Classic Rock WFBQ, Indianapolis where “Q95” was #1 for 70 books in a row. He left behind the OM/PD duties at WFBQ in early 2008 to devote himself full-time to the Bob & Tom Show as executive producer at Premiere.

Cox Media Group morning man and Sirius XM afternoon host Bubba The Love Sponge is the second radio personality this week to be given a shot at possible television stardom by the Tribune Company. Tribune says it plans to tape pilots for a potential syndicated Bubba The Love Sponge TV talk show. We must have overlooked this one…Tom Griswold one half of Premiere Radio Networks’ syndicated Bob and Tom show is recuperating at home in Indiana after sustaining serious injuries to his leg and rotator cuff in a recent auto accident. Wishing Tom well, a speedy recovery, and a happy holiday.

The NAB has announced the nominees for the 2009 Marconi Awards, winners to be revealed at the NAB Radio Show September 24th in Philadelphia. Citadel Media afternoon syndicated radio personality Michael Baisden and the Lampo Groups’ Dave Ramsey are among the nominees in the Network Syndicated Personality of the Year category. Others nominated in the category include three Premiere Radio Network personalities, Bob & Tom, Steve Harvey and Rush Limbaugh.

According to Radio-Info Tribune is installing cameras in the Bob and Tom WFBQ Indianapolis studios and turning the four-hour syndicated radio show into a one-hour midnight Monday-Friday TV show on the Tribune owned superstation WGN. The show will be available to the over 70 million households reached by the channel. This is a three-way deal involving radio syndicator Premiere, Bob & Tom, and Tribune. The show debuts November 3.

The WFBQ Indianapolis-based morning duo have renewed a multi-year deal with the Premiere Radio Network to continue syndicating their daily radio show to about 150 affiliates nationwide. The deal also includes distribution of the recently announced Bob & Tom All-Nighter, a separate show created for stations seeking to add a more comedy driven version of the show to evenings and late nights.
