Moody Radio has announced that Janet Parshall’s new live, weekday, drive-time radio program will be named “In the Market with Janet Parshall.” The program, set for a May 3rd launch, will highlight the day’s headline issues, analyze them through the lens of Scripture and offer compelling commentary with guests and live call-ins.
Victor Kong is appointed Vice President of CNN Radio, effective immediately. He will be based in CNN’s Atlanta offices. Grammy-Awarding winning Hip-Hop artist MC Lyte and comedienne Loni Love (Chelsea Lately Show) are the co-hosts of Cafe Mocha, a new weekly nationally syndicated radio show designed to “empower and entertain” women of color everywhere. The two hour show, scheduled to launch in March is syndicated by Superadio Networks will debut in Chicago and Washington DC.

Envision Radio Network’s “Looking Up To Number One” will pay tribute to Contemporary Christian artist Michael W. Smith with a free radio special in March. Host Johnny Stone will talk to Smith about his career, his wife and family, and his inspiration. The two-hour special will also feature some of the Smith’s biggest hits.
WestStar TalkRadio Network announces that the Kim Komando Digital Minute feature will be fed to affiliates daily instead of weekly beginning March 1st. The move is a reinforcement of Komando’s commitment to provide her affiliates with “the most topical and up-to-date digital everything.”

Rick Dees Entertainment inks a new syndication deal with Debut Broadcasting’s Impact Radio Networks for broadcast and online content. The agreement with Dees will offer the ’80s and ’90s archive of “Rick Dees Weekly Top 40″ and a new Teen Top Twenty hosted by Dees’ son, Kevin Dees. RDE will also provide content for station web sites, including streaming channels, podcasts and mobile apps.

Salem Radio Network announces a new nationally syndicated radio talk show for Christian-formatted stations, hosted by Janet Mefferd. The 2-5 p.m. ET show is set to debut February 1, with KPXQ Phoenix, KENO Nashville, and KWRD Dallas as it’s first affiliates. Mefferd is a 20 year Christian radio veteran and KWRD-FM’s afternoon host. She’s also served as national religion reporter for SRN News in Washington, DC, and as on-air host at WYLL Chicago and KICY Nome.
Tim McCarthy assumes oversight of ESPN Radio’s O&Oed stations as Senior VP/ESPN Radio Group which consists of stations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas and Pittsburgh. Previously, McCarthy was the General Manager at the owned stations in New York.
Dial Global has announced the hiring of John Paul as Sr. Director of Country Programming. Paul, who will be based in Denver, will be responsible for managing the PDs of the Mainstream, Country, Classic Country and True Country formats. He will also serve as PD of Dial Global’s Hot Country format.
Comstar Media has acquired FamilyNet Television and FamilyNet Radio. Among the assets acquired by Comstar Media include FamilyNet Television’s 26 million television households and FamilyNet Radio’s 11 million subscribers through Sirius Satellite Radio.

Ron Rivln exits Triton Digital Media in an “amicable” split, 22 months after joining as VP of Interactive Solutions. He previously was a senior director of ABC Radio Networks. There’s no replacement has been named.
Beth Ann McBride is named Director of Affiliate Relations for the Tom Kent Radio Network. She’d been the producer of Westwood’s Don & Mike show and its successor, the Mike O’Meara show.
United Stations Radio Networks has picked up national syndication rights to The Roe Report hosted by WLS Chicago afternoon host Roe Conn. The daily feature also airs on WABC New York and KABC Los Angeles.
Industry vet Dan Larkin joins The TeshMedia Group as producer for projects soon to be announced. Larkin most recently served as Director of Programming and Operations for New Rushmore Radio. He will be based in the company’s offices and studios in Sherman Oaks, CA.
DIAL GLOBAL Director Affiliate Sales DEBBIE GREENBAUM exits after a year with the company and eight years with its predecessor JONES RADIO NETWORKS. GREENBAUM has also worked at WESTWOOD ONE, PREMIERE, and in the music industry at AVENUE RECORDS and GEFFEN RECORDS.
Syndicated radio talk host Lars Larson has signed a new deal with Alpha Broadcasting that will keep his two daily shows based at Alpha’s KXL Portland, OR, into 2014. Larson’s midday show is heard on 18 stations in the Washington and Oregon through Northwest Radio Network, and he has a 3-6 p.m. show on 150 stations nationwide via Compass Media Networks.
Air personality Sandy Weaver has joined the staff of the Moby In The Morning Radio Network. Weaver will host a 10am-3pm midday shift, adding a new daypart to the Atlanta-based radio syndication company. She is a veteran of Atlanta radio with on-air stints at WKHX, WYAY and WPCH/WLTM. Sandy also worked at Washington, D.C. country station WMZQ.
Tom Donahue has entered into a syndication deal with American Voice Radio Network to air his show “The Free Thinker’ live from Philadelphia. “The Free Thinker” will feature a mix of guests and open town forums, along with newsmakers from politics, academia, media, medicine and publishing. Donahue previously hosted America’s Town Forum via Talk America Radio Network, Peoples Radio Network and Sun Radio Networks from 1990-1995.

“Rise-Up Country with John Ritter” brings in Valerie Mitchell as Affiliate Relations Manager. Her previous stops include United Stations Radio Network (USRN), Westwood One and Talk KFWB-AM/Los Angeles. Mitchell will oversee affiliate relations for the two-hour syndicated radio program which currently has over 105 affiliates.
