Talk Radio Network syndicated radio personality Dr. Laura Schlessinger says she’s quitting her radio show a week after saying the N-word several times in an on-air conversation with a caller. Schlessinger said on “Larry King Live” Tuesday that she “made the decision not to do radio anymore” because she wanted to regain her First Amendment rights and say what’s on her mind.

Premiere Radio Networks syndicated radio talk superstar and media icon Rush Limbaugh, tops the list on TALKERS magazine’s new “HEAVIEST HUNDRED: The 100 Most Important Radio Talk Show Hosts of All Time” which appears in the trade magazine’s July/August 20th Anniversary Issue. The entire list will be released early next week and includes such diverse radio figures as Limbaugh, Arthur Godfrey and Barry Gray.

Syndication One talker Warren Ballentine lost a portion of his 3 hour syndicated radio show in Atlanta this week when CBS Radio WAOK (1380 AM) dropped the first hour of his daily show to make room for Westwood One’s Gayle King Show . The loss of the 10A-11A hour is a setback for Ballentine who fought to get back into the Atlanta market after Radio One Urban AC WAMJ-FM dropped both Ballentine and Al Sharpton from their line-up back in January 2009.
