Veteran sportscaster and former “Access Hollywood” and “The Insider” host Pat O’Brien returns to his sports roots joining Steve Hartman and Vic “The Brick” Jacobs for Fox Sports Radio’s “Loose Cannons” program starting on August 16th. The show, previously known as Hartman & Friends, airs weekdays from 3-7pm ET. Beasley Broadcasting WQAM-AM (Sports Radio 560) Miami, has tapped Football Hall-of-Famer Michael Irvin for a nationally syndicated daily three-hour sports show with co-host former NFL analyst and play-by play broadcaster Kevin Kiley. Mission Media Group Buys Into Sporting News Radio

Clancy Woods, president of Sporting News Radio, along with several investors of Houston based Gow Communications (KGOW 1560 The Game) have  formed Mission Media Group. The new company was created to distribute content under the Sporting News Radio name through an agreement with American City Business Journals. Premiere Extends Fox Sports Deal

Fox Sports Radio, celebrating its 10th anniversary this fall, has inked a long-term extension of its distribution agreement with Premiere Radio Networks. FSR, a division of Premiere, was launched in 2000. Under the new long-term deal, Premiere will continue producing and distributing the Fox Sports Radio Network. Terms were not disclosed. Ryan and Doug Stewart of the 2 Live Stews have signed a new contract that guarantees three more years on 790/The Zone Atlanta and their syndicated radio show on the Sporting News Network. The contract also includes an additional two year option.
The 2 Live Stews air in 35 markets nationwide, including San Francisco, Fort Lauderdale and Memphis and originate from the  Zone in Atlanta from 1 to 4 p.m. daily.

In the wake of parent company Citadel Broadcasting’s  Chapter 11 filing on Sunday,  Citadel Media announced today that it has signed a long-term agreement with ABC News Radio and a multi-year extension with ESPN Audio. Under the terms of the agreements, the network will continue to provide advertising sales support and affiliate relations for ABC News Radio and will maintain its relationship with ESPN Audio to sell advertising across its portfolio of properties.

Road Kill Creative and Compass Media Networks have launched MVP, a new Sports imaging and audio production service co-founded by broadcast veteran Gabe Hobbs and RKP founder Nate Lundy. Designed exclusively for Sports radio, Lundy says MVP will include “the absolute best production voices in the business” and be a “turn key and compelling sports service.” Compass head honcho Peter Kosann predicts the new syndicated radio service will “quickly become the gold standard for sports radio production.”
