Premiere Radio Networks syndicated radio sports talker Jim Rome confirmed Friday that he is leaving ESPN after eight years as host of “Jim Rome Is Burning.” The Big Lead’s Jason McIntyre cited an ESPN source as saying that Rome “was presented with a multi-year offer to return to the network, but he did not accept it.” Two other sources said that Rome and the “JRIB” show “will move over to the burgeoning CBS Sports Network.” …

Sean Pendergast will be the replacement for the The Atlanta-based “Two Live Stews,” who are losing their radio syndication deal with Sporting News Radio. SNR will replace the “Two Live Stews” (Ryan and Doug Stewart) with Pendergast in the 1pm-4pm ET time slot. Pendergast currently hosts a show on Houston’s KGOW-AM (1560), the flagship for Sporting News Radio.

ESPN has reached a two-year deal with Navetter Broadcasting to carry ESPN Radio on 5kw ZSR-FM (103.5) from the Bahamas. ZSR-FM is based in the Bahamian capital of Nassau on the Bahamas’ most populous island of New Providence (270,000 people). The station’s coverage extends to the entire island.
