USRN Acquires Universal Comedy Network

United Stations Radio Networks (USRN) has closed a deal to acquire the assets of Universal Comedy Network (UCN), effective immediately. USRN has been acting as UCN’s marketing partner to both radio stations and the ad community since 2013. USRN will now oversee the production and distribution efforts for UCN. Joel Graham Joins USRN as Director of Comedy Programming.

Universal Comedy Network was formed in 2013 when Joel Graham re-assembled the core creative team from the old American Comedy Network (ACN) which started in 1984. The staff included producers, voice talent, a music producer and a bevy of freelance contributors. UCN currently services 100-plus markets nationwide.

USRN Chairman/CEO Nick Verbitsky commented, “Joel Graham is a very smart and very talented guy who has guided the evolution of UCN and made it a very compelling and successful resource for radio stations. We’re thrilled to have both Joel and his lineup of services under the USRN umbrella going forward.”

Graham added, “I’m thrilled to start this new chapter in my career and lead our very talented team of comedians, writers, performers, and producers at United Stations. Optimizing USRN’s vast creative resources will help to not only grow UCN, but together we’ll grow all of the company’s outstanding comedy products.”
