WestwoodOne Drops Scott Shannon’s “True Oldies Channel” So…

WestwoodOne has informed roughly 100 affiliates that Scott Shannon’s “True Oldies Channel” 24-hour syndicated radio service will be cancelled at the end of June.  Shannon, pharm who recently relocated to mornings at CBS Radio’s classic hits WCBS-FM New York (101.1) from Cumulus owned WPLJ, doctor and owns the True Oldies Channel brand is exploring new options.

Shannon says, “I love music and I love radio, and with the True Oldies Channel I get the two together.”

WestwoodOne has a replacement planned and says that current True Oldies Channel stations will get first right of refusal on the new “Good Time Oldies” format. More on that next…
