The Associated Press has reported what many have suspected all along-Take on The Day syndicated radio host Dr. Laura Schlessinger is taking her act to satellite radio. Schlessinger has signed a multiyear deal with Sirius XM Radio to bring her “Dr. Laura” advice program to satellite radio beginning January 3rd. The long time “advice” show host announced in August that she was leaving her syndicated radio program when her contract was up at the end of the year. The announcement came a week after she apologized for using the N-word on the air while talking to a black woman saying that the caller was hypersensitive to racism.
“I want to be able to say what’s on my mind and in my heart, and what I think is helpful and useful, without somebody getting angry — some special-interest group deciding this is a time to silence a voice of dissent, and attack affiliates and sponsors,” she said in August.
She ends her traditional radio program on Friday, Dec. 31. The following Monday, she starts at Sirius.
