Bubba The Love Sponge to Get Shot at TV

7 May 2010 480 views No Comment

Cox Media Group morning man and Sirius XM afternoon host Bubba The Love Sponge is the second radio personality this week to be given a shot at possible television stardom by the Tribune Company. Tribune says it plans to tape pilots for a potential syndicated Bubba The Love Sponge TV talk show. Bubba’s no stranger to Tribune CEO Randy Michaels who he worked for at Jacor and later Clear Channel WFLZ/WXTB Tampa. Recently named Tribune programming chief Sean Compton announced earlier this week that the company has ordered television pilots from syndicated radio personality Bill Cunningham. One of Compton’s first moves after joining Michaels at Tribune from Clear Channel in 2008 was creating a daily, one-hour late night TV show out of the syndicated radio Bob & Tom show.
