Dial-Global syndicated radio talker Michael Smerconish officially declares himself a political “independent” today in an op-ed for his hometown newspaper, the Philadelphia Inquirer. An active member of the Republican Party for 30 years, Smerconish is celebrating his first year in national syndication this month.
