Charlemagne, former Wendy Williams Experience co-host and morning personality at Radio One’s WPHI-FM (100.3 The Beat) Philadelphia, has been released from the station.  Various reasons for the firing have been mentioned including one involving  fallout from a Jay-Z controversy and another around Charlemagne’s insistence on focusing on more controversial topics than station management was comfortable with. Whatever the reason, there is now a huge void in Philadelphia to fill. There’s been no official word on a permanent replacement, but rumors are flying that he may be replaced by Syndication One syndicated radio morning talent Rickey Smiley Morning Show.
