Being replaced by Montel Williams has turned out just fine for Lionel. Air America will debut “The Lionel Show” in its 6-9 a.m. ET syndicated morning time slot beginning Monday 5/26. The 20-year veteran talk radio host recently ended a two-year run in the 9-noon ET slot before being replaced with Williams. “Lionel is the perfect morning talent for today’s talk radio stations, both AM and FM. Talk stations in all genres are looking for entertaining, topical programs for the key morning drive time slot,” said Bill Hess, Senior VP/Programming. CEO Bennett Zier said, “Lionel is a long-standing member of the Air America family, and we’re pleased to renew our relationship with the launch of his new morning drive-time show.” Throughout his career Lionel’s worked at New York’s WOR, WABC, WCBS, and WFLA in Tampa.
