westwood The Saga Continues At Westwood One

Apparently the highly touted reorganization of Westwood One wasn’t moving quickly enough, CEO Tom Beusse is out after just 10 months on the job and has been replaced by newly hired CFO Rod Sherwood. The company also brings in former Jones MediaAmerica president Gary Schonfeld to lead the network radio division and promotes COO Steve Kalin to president of the Metro Networks traffic unit. Westwood vice chairman Mark Stone says the changes were made to “drive performance” in each division. Which seems to say that Buesse’s “platform agnostic” approach to the companys content was moving a little too quickly away from the core radio business. Although there was more trading of the WON stock on Wall Street after the announcement, the price remained unchanged at 18 cents.
